Project authors published “By Invitation” in the Economist

Ed Balls and Dan Turner were invited to write in this week’s The Economist’s ‘By Invitation’ slot, as part of a suite of articles on the UK’s constitutional future.

The piece, based on our research to date, argues that there is a link between political centralisation and regional economic inequality in the UK, and that both follow from a distinctive UK pattern of economic decentralisation and political struggle in the 1980s.
