Natalie Ayers is a PhD student in the Department of Government studying Methodology and International Relations. Her research focuses on developing and implementing computational methods for conflict and security applications. Current projects include applying deep learning to text, image, and satellite datasets to analyze post-conflict societies, studying the Russian-Ukrainian conflict with natural language processing and data engineering, and using network analysis, NLP, and modern conflict theories to better understand Ancient Greek conflict and its links with modern violence. Prior to beginning her PhD, Natalie worked in data consulting before earning her MS in Computational Analysis and Public Policy at the University of Chicago.’
