PhD Student in Government, Harvard University
Graduate Research Fellow, Weatherhead Research Cluster on Identity Politics

Biography: Hansong Li is a political theorist and historian of political, economic, and legal thought at the Department of Government at Harvard University. He has published articles in political theory and intellectual history from early-modern natural law, the Enlightenment, to interwar geopolitics, and is currently writing on visions of world justice in Western, Indian, and Chinese traditions.

Research Interests: At Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, Hansong Li draws on Western, South Asian, and East Asian archives, literatures, and artefacts to study how cultural communities have deliberated on ethical questions at home and abroad, in face of interstate disputes and intergroup conflicts. He argues that rethinking how peoples and polities shared and contested norms and identities is a first and crucial step to reimagine the possibilities of intercultural dialogues and global justice in the here and now.
