There will be a total eclipse of the Moon the night of Thursday, March 13, 2025, and it will be visible from all of the Americas! Totality begins at 1:25am EST and ends at 2:32am EST on Friday morning, though things will get weird when the full moon enters Earth’s umbra starting around midnight. A total lunar eclipse is very similar to a total solar eclipse (like the one on April 8) in some respects but entirely different in many others, and it’s definitely worth seeing.

We don’t have any formal plans for this event, but it’s safe to say that STAHR will be providing interpretation on the 8th floor deck of the Science Center and maybe doing some other stuff™. Hope for clear skies (and maybe a nice volcanic eruption between now and then, as the ash in the stratosphere will make the eclipse even weirder).
