Teaching and Advising

In my time at Harvard University, I have taught at the undergraduate level in multiple capacities, including as course instructor, head teaching fellow, and teaching fellow. I have also advised undergraduates as a senior thesis advisor, qualitative methods advisor, and concentration (major) advisor. I have been awarded the Derek Bok Center Certificate of Distinction in Teaching on five occasions, and in 2023, I was nominated by the Department of Sociology as best graduate instructor. I am eager to teach both substantive and methodological courses spanning topics such as inequality, criminal justice, rural and urban sociology, and research design/methods. I am also enthusiastic about teaching introductory courses on sociology and criminology.

Outside of the university, I am additionally engaged in my local community as a volunteer in Adult Basic Education (ABE) and High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) programming, and I have served as both a tutor and class aide in math and writing. In 2023, I was named the Volunteer of the Year at the Cambridge Community Learning Center.
