R&D, online teaching and Learning

2008-2011

The Office for Online Teaching and Learning (OOTL) at Harvard’s Division of Continuing Education is a think tank and a training center that extends and transforms the traditional definitions and resources of brick-and-mortar higher education by working with self-selected faculty and their teaching assistants (TAs) to redesign and reconceive courses for online learning.  Its central mission is to conduct research, assessment, and training for faculty and TAs in state-of-the art and innovative pedagogies to enhance the quality of online teaching and learning at DCE.

Two websites give a snapshot of the work we developed:   The TA Portal  which serves as a”one stop” shopping for TAs.   We also have the  OOTL community website where we uploaded all the documents developed during our research.  It includes case studies, survey and focus group questionnaires.
