On the occasion of our 80th anniversary, the Woodberry Poetry Room at Harvard University is proud to announce the creation of a new website that offers scholars and poetry-readers worldwide the opportunity to encounter rare and heretofore inaccessible recordings from its historic archive.

The website’s extensive Listening Booth represents over one hundred highlights from the first phase of an initiative to digitize and preserve fragile reel-to-reel recordings (from 1931 onward), as well as selections from recent WPR programs and events.

In addition, our Vocarium page focuses on current audio and video projects emerging from the Poetry Room, including our WPR Recordings Sessions, the Oral History Initiative and “The Latest,” a monthly podcast series by Harvard Professor of English Stephen Burt.
