Apply for a Nasir Jones Hiphop Fellowship (2024-2025) — Deadline: January 22, 2024.

Fellows receive appointments through the Hutchins Center’s W. E. B. Du Bois Research Institute, which include the following privileges:

  • A Harvard University ID card which provides access to all University libraries and other University facilities
  • A Harvard University email account
  • An office space in the Hutchins Center with 24/7 access

Fellows reside in the Cambridge-Boston area during the term of their appointments. Fellows are expected to participate fully in orientation activities, the weekly fellows’ colloquium series at which fellows present their work in progress, fellows’ workshops which are forums for in-depth explorations of aspects of their current projects, and specially organized cultural activities.

We also encourage Fellows to attend major Hutchins Center events, including lecture series, panel discussions, exhibition openings, and social functions. These occasions provide opportunities to interact with other fellows, faculty, and scholars at Harvard University and other institutions.

The application must include 3 letters of reference, a resume or CV, a detailed project description, and a writing sample.

Fellowship terms are available for the fall semester, spring semester, or full academic year.
