Extracurricular Activities

On Monday afternoon (typically 3:30-4:30), join the extracurricular activities to explore the rich Chinese traditions and customs while also improving your language skills in a fun and engaging way!

These are a great opportunity to experience culture and strengthen our relationship with other students and the teachers, which are also accessible since they don’t take too much time of our days.

Everyday Chinese Fair

生活中文园游会/生活中文園遊會

Kick off the summer with our Everyday Chinese Fair!
Inspired by the energy of a street market, this activity transforms everyday life situations into fun language challenges. Practice ordering bubble tea, bargaining for clothes, getting a haircut, or calling a taxi — all in Chinese! You’ll pick up practical phrases and expressions that don’t always appear in textbooks, and gain confidence speaking Chinese in real-world contexts.

There will be additional Mahjong playing sessions every week where you can simply hang out with friends at noon — playing mahjong!

Mini Cultural Lessons

文化小课堂/文化小課堂

Every Monday, join us for a fun and flexible Mini Cultural Lesson! Each week brings something new — from exploring everyday traditions to learning practical and meaningful aspects of Taiwanese culture. You might even get a taste of Taiyu (Taiwanese), a local language that sounds a bit like Mandarin but carries a warm, down-to-earth charm unique to Taiwan.
And that’s not all — some weeks, you and your classmates might even design your own cultural mini-lesson to share!

Date: Mondays, 3:30–4:30pm (throughout the second half of the program)
