Yuxiao Du has been teaching at Harvard since 2019. He will be the course head for Intermediate Chinese at HTA 2025. Previously, he taught at Harvard Beijing Academy in the summer of 2019, at Harvard Summer School (online) in the summer of 2020 and 2021, and at Harvard Taipei Academy in the summer of 2023 and 2024. In regular semesters, he has taught Elementary Chinese for four years and is now in his second year teaching Elementary & Intermediate Chinese for Advanced Beginners (heritage speakers). He is also the creator and manager of the official website of Harvard Taipei Academy- the one you are using right now!
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Yuxiao is an active participant in the TCFL (Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language) academic community. He has presented at various international and regional conferences, including ACTFL, CLTA, NECTFL, NECLTA, and events hosted by institutions such as Princeton University. His research focuses on pedagogy and second language acquisition. Currently, he has three journal publications and is working on further contributions to the field.
Outside of his professional life, he enjoys traveling, swimming, watching anime, meeting people, and spending time with dogs!
