Education
I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at National Taiwan University. My studies focus on developing effective pedagogical strategies for learners from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, with an emphasis on connecting theory to classroom practice.
Teaching Experience
I have taught Mandarin Chinese in various contexts, including the Harvard Chinese Language Program and the Harvard Taipei Academy. I have worked with both heritage and non-heritage learners, designing interactive lessons and offering individualized feedback to support each student’s progress. Before that, I taught inquiry-based social studies courses at the high school level in Taiwan, where I guided students through field research and civic engagement projects. My experience spans small-group instruction, one-on-one tutoring, and collaborative curriculum development.
Research Interests
My research interests include Chinese language pedagogy, internet Chinese and its impact on communication, and the influence of gender in emerging linguistic styles. I am especially interested in how new forms of digital expression shape learners’ understanding of traditional Chinese usage.
Personal Interests
Outside of teaching and research, I enjoy photography, writing, and exploring creative ways to integrate technology into language learning. I also love discovering new cafés and engaging in cultural exchange through travel and everyday conversation.
