Before joining Harvard, I-Chuan Wei taught in several intensive Chinese programs in Taiwan, including the U.S. Language Flagship Overseas Center, TISLP, and NTU’s ICLP. Since coming to Harvard, I-Chuan has been teaching Chinese language at various levels and became an ACTFL-certified OPI tester in 2024.

I-Chuan is interested in how cognition influences language learning, especially how visual cues can help students improve their pronunciation and speaking performance.

Outside of teaching, I-Chuan enjoys the performing arts and is especially drawn to creative and playful forms of expression, from plays and musicals to stand-up comedy and xiangsheng. These experiences often inspire new ways of bringing imagination and energy into the classroom.
