I have tried to tackle the issue of gun violence in a number of ways. Through advocacy, I serve on the boards of the Health Alliance for Violence Intervention, ChicagoCRED (Creating Real Economic Destiny), Project Unloaded, Institute for Non-violence Chicago, and Heartland Alliance who manages the READI (Rapid Employment and Development Initiative). By way of influencing media, I have authored or co-authored multiple op eds. Finally, I serve on the City of Chicago’s Task force on community violence intervention.
