I have worked in the field of violence prevention for over a decade, beginning in Chicago Public Schools, and presently at Chicago CRED, a community violence intervention organization. At Chicago CRED we work directly with those deemed most likely to shoot or be shot and provide them with a range of supportive services, including case management, therapy, housing, and employment. Perhaps most importantly, we provide every young man and woman who comes to us with unconditional positive regard.
