We studied the incidence and risk factors for recurrent violent injury in DC and identified that the most at-risk groups are associates of those who have been shot and not the victims themselves. We also created a series of videos on how to counsel adult patients on safe gun storarge. I hope to take away lessons on how to expand our educational curriculum for physicians and medical students in terms of gun safety, counseling patients, and how to incorporate this into the medical school’s curriculum.
