Maria Lund Dahlberg (they/them), M.S., is the Director of the Board on Higher Education and Workforce at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. Their work with the Board focuses on strengthening postsecondary education and career development; improving equity, diversity, and inclusion in STEMM; and enhancing recruitment, retention, and innovation in STEMM. Currently, they oversee the Roundtable on Mentorship, Well-being, and Professional Development; the National Academies work on Disrupting Ableism and Advancing STEM; a portfolio of work on Building Research Capacity at HBCUs, TCUs, HSIs, and ANNHSIs; and the Roundtable on Black Men and Black Women in Science, Engineering, and Medicine. Lund Dahlberg came to the National Academies by way of a Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Fellowship, which they received after completing all requirements short of finalizing the dissertation for their doctorate in physics at Pennsylvania State University. Lund Dahlberg holds a B.A. with high honors in physics from Vassar College and an M.S. in physics from Pennsylvania State University.
