  • A picture of a complicated customized set of chessboards. Eight boards are stacked atop each other; each board has color-coded circles in the usual black and white spaces. The pieces are black and white paper in clear stands. Each board has a full complement of 32 pieces.

With the exception of lighting, everything is completely edible and was handmade with gingerbread, royal icing, sugar glass windows, chocolate pebble driveway and walkways. Indoor decorative holiday trees and outdoor pine trees are made of sugar, snow is made of royal icing and sugar, and chimney smoke is made of sugar glass. The letters K, T, L, F, M (probably initials of family names) are formed with icing in different parts of the house.

  • Tall wooden initial letter colorfully decorated using mosaic technique. Beads and small tiles of different colors make up little stars and flowers and glittery patches. Mini birds and curving shapes from silver are also present. The name "MEG" is formed subtly with silver characters at one point.

  • This glass piece works by dipping a clear vessel into first a pot pot of molten glass and then into a green pot. I then pull two sides. The blue tends to pull further as it is considered a softer color. The green compliments the with its own blue components.

  • T-1 sculptural clay, in cone 10 glaze (high fired) with blue black glaze (only 1 glaze was used) It broke into the deep textures and pooled, separating the glaze ingredients into two-3 colors- shades of plum & turquoise with some deeper shade of green.

The lamp’s hat is made of stained glass, brightly colored with light green, green, and azure, and with a baby pink water lily flower in the middle.   • A small metal sculpture rests on an outdoor wooden railing. The sculpture is made of wires, metal nuts, and washers, and depicts a stick figure with a hexnut for a head sitting on a toilet made of two stacked hexnuts, comfortably reading a metal paper.

  • An accordion shaped book that can be displayed in a tunnel format that incorporates several layers of spatially receding collage elements. The imagery incorporates a jungle-like tangle of plants, birds, butterflies, human figures, and hiking and camping elements. Human figures with binoculars suggest a sense of watching and being watched--perhaps even covertly.

It is used similarly to a vase, with a small bouquet of lavender sprigs going through two of its holes like a tilted axis of the structure.

  • A modern light with a simple black shade and bulb with decorative filament is upcycled and incorporated into a whipple tree to make a rustic light fixture.

  • An upcycled whipple tree branch with a rusted ring a top and rusted hooks on both sides hold a planter and are placed against the backdrop of a barn.

  • An illuminated lamp with irregular rounded sides formed from the curved branches of a young tree. The bent branches are covered with an open weave linen fabric and their tips are bent together and fitted into four sides of yellow child's building block.
