An accordion shaped book that can be displayed in a compressed star shape (carousel) or a long unfolded format. Featuring seven collaged panels of brooding, disturbing, or strange artwork incorporating animals, nature, and lab/experimentation imagery. The color palette is dark with interspersed bright color.

Carousel book model

An accordion shaped book that can be displayed in a tunnel format that incorporates several layers of spatially receding collage elements. The imagery incorporates a jungle-like tangle of plants, birds, butterflies, human figures, and hiking and camping elements. Human figures with binoculars suggest a sense of watching and being watched--perhaps even covertly.

Artist Statement

I enjoy making and have focused in the past on book structures, fine metalwork, and fiber arts. As I made these book models, they became sketches of the strangeness and foreboding that we collectively felt in the earliest months of the pandemic.
