The third is an earth tone pigment sketch of a friend named David in a similar pose to Michelangelo's, but giving a thumbs up and smiling at the viewer over his shoulder.

David 1: Raphael’s study of Michelangelo’s David, with my pigments on carved wood. David 2: Michelangelo’s David, made of 8 tones of leaves on a background of natural pigments and foliage. David 3: My friend, David, with my pigments on carved wood.

A 3-d lattice of iron and copper rust stained wood strips with large pieces of scrap metal throughout.

Scrap Lattice

Assemblage Sculpture

Using strips of stained wood from my Flooded Poplar series I have built a lattice and integrated found metal scrap. The piece is accented throughout with barnacles which are highlighted with ground freshwater mussels nacre and micaceous stone.

Artist Statement

My work is mixed media/ assemblage using found objects and synthesized pigments. I invest a lot in my process, developing my own techniques which are constantly evolving.
