This glass piece works by dipping a clear vessel into first a pot pot of molten glass and then into a green pot. I then pull two sides. The blue tends to pull further as it is considered a softer color. The green compliments the with its own blue components.

On my walks I noticed how the grasses and plants opened in the spring in the same way the two colors, blue and green, work in glass.

A line of 6 vases - yellow, orange, red, lilac, purple and blue, all inspired by pitcher pants have wide bases and fluted tops that resemble lilies.

In June 2023, I attended an enlightening class at CMOG led by Ed Branson, and since then, my latest creations have been inspired by Ed’s work and my own observations of pitcher plants.

Artist Statement

I started glassblowing in 2009 with the NOCA Glass School. I have observed both the traditional and experimental approaches in glassblowing, and it has allowed me to create my own unique style.
