Welcome to the Semeghini Lab!

The Semeghini Lab is an experimental research group in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University. We investigate highly-entangled phases of matter, trying to find answers to interesting open problems in condensed matter, high-energy physics and chemistry, and we aim to develop efficient protocols for quantum information processing. To reach these goals, we use a quantum platform based on programmable atom arrays with a mixture of alkali and alkaline-earth atoms.

We are part of the Harvard Quantum Initiative (HQI) and of the vibrant CUA community across Harvard and MIT.
