Lars Peter Fredén
Former Ambassador to China and Mongolia
Lars Peter Fredén was in the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1982 to 2016, with his career centering on China and Soviet Union/Russia. Shandong University 1980-1981. Beida 1981-82. Hong Kong 1984-1986. Harvard 1986-1987. DCM Beijing 1998-2002. Fredén was Ambassador to China from 2010-2016. During the summers of 2011 to 2019, he biked Beijing to Hong Kong and back, plus much of the Yangtse. He has several books on the dissolution of the USSR and the restoration of independence of the Baltic countries. Fredén is a member of Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences.
