Don J. Wyatt is the John M. McCardell, Jr. Distinguished Professor at Middlebury College, where he teaches both history and philosophy. Possessing Harvard University A.M. and Ph.D. degrees conferred by RSEA and EALC, respectively, Wyatt focuses foremost geo-culturally on China, about which he researches and publishes on topics of premodern Chinese thought and intellectualism, matters of warfare and violence, and questions of ethnicity and slavery. Latest among his several books is Slavery in East Asia (2022).
