HMS Planetary Health Lab
We are a pioneering laboratory dedicated to transforming Planetary Health through impactful research and pragmatic solidarity.
Our work centers on the deeply interwoven issues of health inequities, racial capitalism, and climate change.
Our research is rooted in the belief that understanding and addressing these global challenges necessitates a critical examination of human systems, knowledge production, and power. Methodologically, we draw on diverse disciplines—including political ecology, science and technology studies, complexity theory, epidemiology, and anthropology—to explore the discursive, material, and socio-historical dimensions of the human-environment relation.
A central theme of our work is the concept of epistemic justice. Through inclusive, transdisciplinary research, we grapple with ideological confines to the social imaginary, contributing to the construction of more equitable and sustainable planetary systems.
