The PhonLab is thrilled to have provided support for two language schools which ran during the summer holidays in Douala and Yaounde, Cameroon, in which Kejom language and literacy courses were taught to children and teens. As many families have been displaced from the Northwest and Southwest regions due to ongoing conflict, children do not have the opportunity to spend time in their ancestral villages where indigenous languages are dominant. The schools provide a place for children to gain these skills and learn more about their linguistic and cultural heritage. Thank you to the organizers for sharing these photos with us!
