WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY

Barker Center (registration, book exhibition, Centennial Grant poster exhibition) is wheelchair accessible from the main (courtyard) entrance to the building, with an elevator to the east of the registration area. Accessible restrooms are located on the first floor.

Emerson Hall (paper sessions) is wheelchair accessible from the south entrance to the building, with an ADA-compliant ramp on the first floor and an elevator in the main concourse.

The First Church in Cambridge sanctuary (11 Garden Street), the venue for Friday night’s Boston Camerata concert, is wheelchair accessible with accessible restrooms.

The garage at 52 Oxford Street, for which permits are available when registering for the annual meeting, is wheelchair accessible. Additional accessible parking is available via separate day-pass request at the Broadway Garage (7 Felton Street).

Gund Hall (Envisioning Cluny exhibition) is wheelchair accessible from the Quincy and Cambridge Street entrances, with an accessible and gender inclusive restroom in the building’s lobby.

The Harvard Art Museums building (32 Quincy Street; mid-day study sessions) is wheelchair accessible from the Quincy, Broadway, and Prescott Street entrances, with elevators off the central atrium and an accessible, single-occupancy bathroom on Level 2. A limited number of wheelchairs are available for loan in the lobby free of charge, and the Museums provide free and unlimited visual interpreting services for people with visual impairments.

Holden Chapel (session 85, mid-day concert) is wheelchair accessible at the main (Harvard Yard) entrance, with two accessible restrooms.

Houghton Library (Incipit exhibition) is wheelchair accessible, with accessible and gender inclusive restrooms on the ground floor.

McMullen Museum at Boston College (Wonders of Creation exhibition) is wheelchair accessible, and exhibition floors are connected by an elevator. The museum has four transport chairs that visitors are welcome to use, as well as two wheelchair parking spaces in front of the museum. View BC map here.

Memorial Hall (plenary sessions, opening reception, CARA lunch reception) is wheelchair accessible from both the Cambridge Street and Kirkland Street entries to the transept, with an elevator located on the Cambridge Street side of the building. The orchestra section of Sanders Theatre is wheelchair accessible, as are all restrooms.

The Science Center (lunch pick-up) is wheelchair accessible from the Science Center Plaza and Oxford Street entrances. Accessible restrooms are located on the lower level, via elevators at the intersection of the main corridors.

Sever Hall (paper sessions) is wheelchair accessible from the Sever Quad (east) entrance to the building, with an elevator on the north wing of the building. Restrooms on the basement level and fourth floor are wheelchair accessible.


GENDER INCLUSIVE RESTROOMS

Gender inclusive restrooms are available in the Barker Center (fourth floor), Emerson Hall (second and third floors), Robinson Hall (second floor), Memorial Hall (basement), Houghton Library (ground floor), the Harvard Art Museums (level 2), and Gund Hall (lobby). LACTATION AND CHANGING ROOM

A lactation and changing room (with refrigerator) is available on the first floor of the Barker Center (room 107). A water bottle filler is located on the other side of the lobby, adjacent to the Medieval Studies Program offices; in addition, there is a publicly accessible kitchenette with sink and microwave in the Mahindra Humanities Center (Barker Center east wing, first floor).
