Baker Library Special Collections and Archives (BLSCA) staff use ArchivesSpace to create all accession records. Following recommended guidelines all of the required data elements for a single-level description except for Language and Scripts of the Materials Element (4.5) are included in each accession record. Staff completes authority work via the Agent module in ArchivesSpace.
In addition to the required data elements for a single-level description, staff also include the date and extent of the materials, a link to the agent record, links to related accessions, and where appropriate, information about the condition of the materials, its provenance, the disposition of materials, and whether an acquisition report was created (in the General Note field). Accession records are not made public.
