Professor Meng is a distinguished statistician and the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Data Science Review. He served as Dean of Harvard’s Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (2012–2017) and Chair of the Department of Statistics (2004–2012). His work spans statistical inference and computation—from Bayesian foundations to EM and MCMC—and he received the COPSS Presidents’ Award in 2001.
