
Rabih Zbib is the Director of Machine Learning at Avature, a leading provider of enterprise software solutions for Talent Acquisition and Talent Management. He leads a team of researchers and engineers focused on developing and integrating AI technologies into HR processes. His areas of expertise include information extraction, semantic search, conversational AI, and AI agents. Dr. Zbib’s work leverages advanced language modeling and more generally, machine learning techniques, while maintaining a strong emphasis on ethical and unbiased AI, as well as the human-centric aspects of AI-enabled talent management.
Before joining Avature, Dr. Zbib served as a Senior Research Scientist at BBN Technologies in Cambridge, MA, where he was the Principal Investigator and Technical Lead on multiple DARPA and IARPA research projects. His research there spanned multilingual information retrieval, information extraction, low-resource machine translation, and speech recognition.
Dr. Zbib earned his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for his work in Statistical Machine Translation. He also holds a Master’s degree from MIT and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the American University of Beirut.
