About the fund

The residuary bequest of General Edward W. Hincks to establish in Radcliffe College a fund in memory of his daughter, Bessie Hincks, 1884-85. To be held and known as the Hincks Fund, the income is to be applied to the purchase of books for the Bessie Hincks Alcove, so called, in the Library, for English literature.
