About the fund
The gift of Gareth R. Eaton A.B. 1962 and Sandra S. Eaton to establish a fund for the purchase of books in chemistry. The terms of the endowed fund were amended on February 25, 2008, to support the Harvard College library collections in the chemical sciences. It is the preference of the donors the fund be used to acquire and preserve printed books. In the event that in the future scientific monograph publishing migrates away from paper to media that we cannot yet imagine, the archival acquisition of such monographs will be considered within the intent of the donors.
