About the fund

The gift of the Harvard Club of the Republic of China on Taiwan to establish a fund in honor of their late President, the income of which be used for the following purposes: 1. the acquisition of publications important to research on the history of the Republic of China prior to 1949 on the China mainland and since 1949 on Taiwan; 2. the acquisition of important research materials on the history and development of the Kuomintang (Nationalist Party) since its founding in 1894 by Dr. Sun Yat-sen; and 3. the compilation and publication of research aids such as subject bibliographies on the materials so collected together with those already in the collections of the Harvard-Yenching Library for scholarly use.
