About the fund

The gift and bequest of Professor Robert P. Blake A.M. 1909 to establish a book fund for the benefit of the Harvard College Library. I should prefer that the income of this be devoted to the purchase of books and materials dealing with the Christian East, this to include the races and cultures of Oriental Christianity and those of the Balkan area. Russia, however, is to be excluded, except in so far as materials in that language may bear upon the scope previously outlined. It is, of course, to be understood that full discretion is to be allowed, and that these restrictions are to be taken as preferential indications, and not as barriers or as prohibitions.
