About the fund

Before Norton Perkins died in July, 1925, he gave to the Harvard College Library some very rare books by Coleridge and Wordsworth. He also left to Harvard all the books in his library which Harvard wanted. These gifts place the Harvard College Library at the very top in this country, if not the world, in these subjects. To continue this work, friends of Norton Perkins established a fund in his memory, which is to be used to buy books for the Harvard College Library.
