Associate in History and Program Coordinator, Harvard University
Priv.-Doz. at University of Zurich

I am specializing in the history of universities and scholarship with a focus on Swiss, Italian, and Holy Roman Empire early modern contexts.

My research examines how scholars have stored, archived, and organized knowledge from the late medieval period through the early modern era, including my book on scholarly information management in post-Reformation Zurich and my upcoming work on Conrad Gessner.

What draws me to information history is its power to connect people and institutions across time and geography—evident in my co-founding of the Global Information History Workshop and my dedication to facilitating academic exchanges between universities in Europe and North America, using historical understanding to build contemporary scholarly networks.
