Prof. Manuelian is an Egyptologist, Former MFA curator, Giza Project director, and “discoverer” of the 73 Arabic diary books in Egypt in 2006. He has already overseen the scanning of the 42 Giza diary books for inclusion on the Giza Project website. As the PI, he will coordinate all aspects of the project, including allocating the funds, inviting the team to Harvard, collaborating with MFA authorities, hiring the website coders and designers, and writing reports. As the author of a new biography of HU–MFA Expedition director George Reisner (1867–1942), he is familiar with all aspects of the Expedition, its staff, discoveries, and operating procedures.
