Sumathy Kumar is an organizer originally from New Rochelle, NY. After graduating from New York University, she worked as a tenant organizer and helped found Housing Organizers for People Empowerment (HOPE), a tenant union in Brooklyn. Sumathy has worked at Housing Justice for All since 2020 and has helped run campaigns for Cancel Rent, statewide eviction moratoria, Good Cause Eviction and more.
