Kate Andrias is the Patricia D. and R. Paul Yetter Professor of Law at Columbia Law School. She teaches and writes about labor and constitutional law, with a focus on problems of economic and political inequality. Recent work focuses on how law can be reformed to build power for working people, to strengthen democracy, and to remediate problems of poverty and inequality. Earlier in her career, she served as special assistant and associate counsel to President Obama, and as chief of staff of the White House Counsel’s Office; clerked for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg of the U.S. Supreme Court; and worked as a union organizer for the Service Employees International Union.
