The weather was just right for food, drinks, and AI fun!
CoDA celebrated the end of the academic year by hosting a group social event on Wednesday, June 21st. This was a chance for individuals to meet in-person, grab a snack, and think creatively about AI.
During the height of the event, we wheeled in some whiteboards and ask people to form groups. The objective was to think collaboratively about AI systems and how they are built: both the actual infrastructure and the solutions they generate. People came up with some amazing ideas, here are a few:
- A one-stop-shop vacation planner. An application that absorbs all of your personal preferences and then auto-books flights, transportation, and lodging at the cheapest possible price. Lots of regulation to think about! And also travel insurance!
- A perfect meal generation. In an ideal world where you can share all of your health and nutrition information, this app tells you exactly what you should eat in order to maximize longevity. Hopefully it wouldn’t tell you to eat broccoli every day…
- A literature review generator. This idea would help fill gaps in a literature review—a common survey of the land at the beginning of academic articles. It had some wild components, such as a way to connect your research budget to AI so it could buy articles that you definitely couldn’t live without.
Below are some pictures of the designs and thinking:
