Professional Development for Data Analysts at Harvard and Beyond

The academic year is in full swing, and it feels like new knowledge is in the air all around campus! There are so many wonderful resources for professional development that we have access to as members of Harvard community. Below, we highlight a number of them related to Data and Analytics

There is also life beyond Harvard 😊! Here are a few additional opportunities for non-Harvard professional development: 

  • Free introductory workshop series “Road to NODES” by Neo4j, a fabulous open-source tool for graphs databases (the series will be run from mid-October to mid-November, so sign up fast!);
  • Datacamp: learn the data skills you need online at your own pace—from non-coding essentials to data science and machine learning;
  • Udacity is an online learning platform for those interested in tech-related subjects such as data analysis, software engineering, artificial intelligence, and web development;
  • Coursera provides access to the world’s best education, partnering with top universities and organizations to offer courses for anyone to take, for free;
  • A Cloud Guru features the largest hands-on cloud learning library of engaging multi-cloud courses & labs for AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and beyond;
  • Dataquest: 80+ courses on Python, R, SQL, Excel, and Power BI;
  • Codecademy is an American online interactive platform that offers free coding classes in 12 different programming languages including Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, Ruby, SQL, C++, C#, Swift, and Sass, as well as markup languages HTML and CSS .
