Elizabeth Matos

Elizabeth worked in the prisoners’ rights field for over 12 years serving as a staff attorney and then Executive Director of the only statewide legal services agency in Massachusetts serving the civil rights needs of incarcerated people. She previously worked as an attorney in the areas of disability, housing, education and immigration and has extensive policy experience. Elizabeth is currently serving as the Chief of the Civil Rights Division of the MA Attorney General’s Office and Sr. Advisor to the AG. She continues to work on addressing health equity in jails and prisons in Massachusetts.
