In collaboration with Dr. Daniella Bar-Yosef, Ms. Sapir will study wooden beads discovered at Nahal Hemar Cave in the Judean Desert (a cave that Ofer Bar-Yosef excated in 1983 with ASPR support.). Over 100 beads were discovered in the cave, and Ms. Sapir and her collaborators will conduct CT scans to discover what wood the beads are made of without damaging them. Support was provided for this research by the ASPR in early 2026.
