LAYOUT TIPS – Home Page Variation 2 – Hero + Posts Feed
This is another home page layout option. If this is closer to the preferred final layout of your site, you can make this page the home page in the Dashboard > Settings > Reading > Your Homepage Displays. Otherwise, you can copy / paste these block variations onto the current home page and customize the layout / settings using the block editor.
Hero refers to the image banner at the top of this page, which is pre-configured using the Cover Block for a landscape, high resolution image that spans full width (images should be at least 2000px wide). There is a dark backplate behind the text to account for legibility / accessibility. The text alignment is on the left instead of on the right, and the image is not as tall as on the first home page variation. This is all customizable in the Cover Block settings.
Posts Feed refers to the Blog or News feed at the bottom of the page using the Latest Posts block to pull in posts from your site. You can use this block to have your most recent posts dynamically show on the home page.
