LAYOUT TIPS – Home Page Variation 1 – Hero + Static Blocks
This is currently your home page, which is one of the pre-configured layout variations available to you in this site template. You can duplicate this page, and using the block editor, rearrange the design patterns, add your own content, customize the block settings, and copy/paste each of these blocks to reuse across your site. Delete or make private the other home page variations you are not using.
Hero refers to the image banner at the top of this page, which is pre-configured using the Cover Block for a landscape, high resolution image that spans full width (images should be at least 2000px wide). There is a dark backplate behind the text to account for legibility / accessibility.
Static blocks refers to the rest of the page elements, which are content blocks that faculty / researchers/ students typically have, using proper heading structure. The Featured Cards at the bottom are using Columns blocks that you can use to manually feature relevant publications, projects, media, etc.
