Bio

I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Government Department, working on my dissertation titled “The Paradox of Prosperity: Rise and Decline of European Leading Economies,” which systematically investigates how the state and the state system contributed to the rise and decline of leading economies in Western Europe from the late Middle Ages to early 20th century. From 2023 to 2024 I am a visiting researcher at the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (University of Amsterdam).

Prior to joining the Government Department, I received my J.D. from Harvard Law School where I worked on international human rights and legal history.
